Taja & Jon, a destination wedding at Tonnara di Scopello

Taja and Jon are etched in my memory as some of the sweetest people I've ever met. Both are photographers, adventurers, and globetrotters, madly in love with Sicily.

Since our first video call, I've been eager to join them on their Sicilian planning adventure. I saw a joy and authenticity in them that immediately captivated me!

At our first site inspection together, exactly one year before the wedding date, at my favorite place, La Tonnara di Scopello, I completely fell in love with these two!

Throughout our year of planning together, we worked side by side, exchanging ideas, visions, and organizing a wedding that truly captured the essence of Sicily, yet without altering the simplicity and authenticity of Taja and Jon.

For us, La Tonnara di Scopello represents a historic venue perfect for framing authentic beauty.

It was May 24th, and initially, the sun was slightly obscured by clouds at the start of the day...However, fortune favored us, and the entire wedding was set up outdoors!

A touching ceremony, conducted by one of the guys' best friends, Tom, brought smiles and tears, accompanied by speeches from Jon's mother, Taja's mother, and other close friends.

All this against the backdrop of the sound of the waves, with our gaze toward the horizon, and to the melodies of the duo "Zala Gasper," finalists in the Eurovision Music Contest, who mesmerized us with their music and vibes.

At the conclusion of this intimate and romantic moment, our experience was transformed by a performance of authentic Sicilian sounds led by our friends Mizzica Mizzica, the most vibrant folk band in Sicily.

Joy, dancing, bubbles, and amuse-bouches served by waiters on trays created moments for relaxation, enjoying good music in a magical setting!

And our lovely newlyweds? They were accompanied by the extraordinary Tamara Vidmar, a dear friend and the trusted photographer for our couple, wandering around Tonnara, capturing romantic memories as a couple in this unique venue in the world!

Meanwhile, we were putting the final touches on our long tables inside the Tonnara courtyard, ready to welcome our guests amid stunning colors and fragrances, an explosion of spring!

And because every story is unique and every couple has their own desires, Taja and Jon made their entrance into the Tonnara courtyard to the soundtrack of the TV series "Satisfaction," featuring vibrant and dramatic notes.

Naturally, this was accompanied by the traditional waving of napkins, along with applause and shouts of joy!

And, as per tradition, which I am getting to know better and better, having the fortune of working alongside foreign couples who choose Sicily and my agency, the most anticipated moment during the seated dinner is the speeches.

They are touching, humorous, filled with anecdotes and stories that are always wonderful to share, and above all, they include expressions of thanks and gratitude! Taja to Jon, Jon to Taja, their best friend, all toasting to love and this incredible journey to Sicily!

In a respectable Italian wedding (yes, even with a Slovenian bride and an English groom, of course!), the cake-cutting moment must surprise and amaze. And Taja and Jon did just that!

Being lovers of tiramisu above all, they inquired if it could be their wedding cake... And of course, fulfilling every wish is a mission for us!

A gigantic Tiramisu was cut by the sea... It was one of the most picturesque moments of the entire day, and oh, how delicious it was!

And finally, a party on the terrace overlooking the sea with super DJs straight from Ljubljana, delicious cocktails, and a totally unexpected and “insane” surprise organized by Taja's mother along with her friends... A performance fit for true dance queens!
